Key Biblical Claims

What Genesis Actually Says

Discover how careful Hebrew translation reveals that Genesis supports an ancient earth and aligns with modern scientific understanding.

Genesis Reveals Ancient Earth

The Hebrew text actually describes an ancient earth, not a young creation as commonly interpreted.

Creation vs. Formation

Hebrew distinguishes between 'bara' (creation) and 'asah' (formation), revealing different stages of earth's development.

Days as Geological Ages

The Hebrew 'yom' in context refers to long periods of time, compatible with geological evidence.

Gap Theory Confirmed

The text supports a gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, reconciling science with scripture.

Why This Translation Matters

For centuries, layers of translation have obscured the original meaning of Genesis. This work strips away those layers, returning to the pure Hebrew text as it was first written.

Through careful analysis of ancient Hebrew grammar, syntax, and cultural context, this translation reveals nuances that have been lost in traditional interpretations.

The result is a Genesis that speaks with fresh voice—ancient yet immediate, scholarly yet accessible.

"Rodney Whitefield has undertaken a study of Biblical Hebrew that is far more intensive than most seminary-trained students have done. He has carefully examined the text of Genesis One in the original Hebrew as well as in ancient translations (the Targums, the Septuagint, and the Vulgate). Also he has consulted all the English versions plus ancient and modern commentaries, and recognized grammarians such as S. R. Driver, Kautzsch and Crowley, Menahem Mansoor, and Ziony Zevit. His resulting translation provides the most detailed and thorough explanation of Genesis One available to the general English reader today. Repeatedly he clarifies that the Hebrew word yom does not refer to twenty-four hours regarding the length of the six creation days. His exposition will be of great benefit to those seeking a fuller understanding of the original meaning as intended throughout Genesis One."
